Valparaiso Chain of Lakes Watershed Group will dedicate one hour from 7 to 8 PM in the Porter County Administration Building introducing each of several local environmental organizations to give an extended “elevator speech” addressing questions like – What is your mission? Your biggest current problem? A major recent accomplishment ?
Each speaker will have ten minutes plus opportunity for Q & A. We’ll head over to Greeks’ Pizza next door at 8 for “meet and greet” so you’ll have another chance to share ideas, offer to volunteer, recruit volunteers, promote your goals, inspire others to partner or participate.
We’re hoping that hearing from multiple groups at one time will help everyone distinguish, learn, network, share, and synergize with conservation minded citizens whose mission may differ, yet supplement, their particular goals and activities.
We currently have commitments from Porter County Chapter of Izaak Walton League, Woodland Savanna Land Conservancy, Porter County Recycling and Solid Waste District, Valpo Chain of Lakes Watershed Group (the host), Duneland Chapter of the Sierra Club, Northwest Indiana Paddler’s Association, Shirley Heinze Land Trust and the V.U. Earth Tones. Save the Dunes & Turtles Against Plastic, might attend as well.

The brief talks will begin at 7 PM, preceded by a Valpo Chain of Lakes Watershed Group business meeting at 6 PM.

The County building (Chambers Room) is located at 151 Indiana Avenue, Valparaiso. Manny’s Greek Pizza, where we’ll provide pizza and Q & A with the speakers, is one block east of the Porter County Building.

Both meetings are open to the public, free of charge, and welcoming folks of all ages.
